Bustaman, a retired major of the Malaysian Army, served the Army for 15 years after obtaining his commission from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, England, before turning his attention to law.

Fascinated with IP since her university days, Adhuna joined the firm as a paralegal in 1996 and passed her patent agents examination in 1998. She carried out her pupillage with the firm and was called to the Malaysian Bar in May 2000.

Adhuna handles IP corporate and litigation matters, IT and franchising agreements and related matters, and trade mark opinions, oppositions and rectification proceedings. She has attended various training, courses and conferences in IP including at the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation in 1999 and APAA. She also underwent a three-month attachment programme with the Melbourne office of Phillips Ormonde & Fitzpatrick in 2002.

Edna graduated with LL.B (Hons) from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth in 1999 and was formerly attached with one of the country’s leading IP firm where she had gained considerable experience in IP.

Edna is experienced in managing trade mark portfolios for large international, multinational and local companies as well as foreign trade mark matters involving countries such as USA, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia, as well as knowledgeable in various unified filing systems such as the Madrid Protocol and CTM. Edna provides various opinion and advice on various issues involving amongst others, infringement, opposition, domain name, due diligence and advertising clearance and over the years, she has brought successful closures to numerous cases involving Trademark and domain name Misappropriation, trade mark litigations and oppositions.

Prior to being admitted to the High Court of Malaya as an Advocate & Solicitor, Farah worked as a paralegal at a leading legal firm, specializing in trade marks. Her experience covers trade mark prosecution and enforcement of IP rights.

Jasdeep joined the firm in 2002 after graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biotechnology from Monash University in 2001. Since joining the profession, Jasdeep has worked in the area of patents and has extensive experience and knowledge in the prosecution of patent applications before the Malaysian Intellectual Property Office (MyIPO) and a number of foreign Industrial Property Offices. The academic background and experience assists Jasdeep in understanding the issues from clients’ perspective.

Jasdeep passed the Malaysian Patent Agents examination in 2006 and has attended numerous trainings on Intellectual Property (IP), including the Japanese Patent Office/Intellectual Property Rights (JPO/IPR) Training course for Patent Experts in 2006.

Juria is a member of our patent department where she is involved in areas including biotechnology, biochemical, bioprocess, environmental, material, medical and other related fields of engineering and technology focusing on protection of intellectual property rights.

Sanjiya has more than ten (10) years of experience in the area of intellectual property, having worked at two established IP firms with background in patent prosecution as well as trade marks for local and international clients, and has attended various IP courses organized by both internal and external bodies.
