Having graduated with LL.B (Hons) from University of London in 1997, Mahendra first gained experience as a Lecturer-At-Law in the legal academic profession, and upon being called to the Malaysian Bar in October 2001, was thereafter engaged in legal practice as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya with specialisation in civil litigation especially in the area of land acquisition and design and build contract disputes.
After undertaking a corporate position in a foreign bank as a Legal Manager, Mahendra delved into the challenging practice of Intellectual Property and was once engaged as the Head of Department for the Trade Mark Division in one of the prominent IP firms in Kuala Lumpur. He obtained vast experience in management of division staff, trade mark prosecutions as well as management of a full-service trade mark administration and prosecution division. Subsequently, Mahendra was engaged briefly in legal practice for corporate and commercial litigation in a prominent law firm in Kuala Lumpur.
Mahendra is well versed and knowledgeable in managing trade mark portfolios for large international, multinational and Malaysian companies as well as prolific at rendering legal opinions and advice on IP enforcement, IP infringement, IP oppositions, domain name disputes, apart from prosecuting cases at the Malaysian IP Registry and civil matters in the Malaysian Courts.
Mahendra has also attended and participated in various IP and Trade Mark conferences including those organized by INTA held in the United States of America whereby Mahendra delivered a presentation speech on use of trade marks in Southeast Asia.
Mahendra enjoys watching action packed movies and comedies as well as listens to music with an interest for reading latest publications on automotive technology and new gadgets.
